Aims of the book:
Inspiring you to live a healthier and therefore more fulfilling life by Empowering you to face any challenge in life with grit, humbleness and perspective

My Inspiration To Write This Book:
I have been asked on several occasions over the years to write a book but I have previously been reluctant due to the circumstances at the time not being conducive to me being able to commit to the time required to take on such a big project. However, a couple of years ago when I turned 50 and I was asked again I had the inspiration to take on this project because of the frighteningly high – and still increasing – statistics of male suicides around the world. In almost every country in the world male suicides vastly outnumber those of women. As we all know suicides happen in males and females of any age. However, within all sub-categories of suicides – teenagers, single parents, recently divorced, recently bereaved, people with diagnosed mental health issues etc – percentages are dropping which is great. BUT the one exception is males over 35. Within this category percentages are consistently increasing without any signs of a downward turn. Another scary fact is that well over half of these male suicides never shown signs of mental illness previous to the suicide. As with all suicides there is rarely a single reason but one single factor is undeniably true – your chances of having suicidal thoughts are massively decreased if you are fit and healthy! Physical health and fitness go hand in hand with mental health. Knowing this was what gave me my initial inspiration to write this book.
In essence it will be classed as a training book. However, I would class it as a self-help book using “training” as a tool to do so. My main goals of the book are:
To help people improve their health and quality of life both physically and mentally.
In doing this I aim to:
. Encourage regular exercise, and a healthy lifestyle,
. Empower people to commit to a seemingly difficult task and to challenge themselves
. To inspire people to encourage others to commit because they have been empowered by their own achievements
. Educate people into accepting their own flaws and weaknesses (both mentally and physically), i.e. improve their introspective intelligence and in so doing developing their self-confidence because when people know their own limits, they are also more aware of their own potential
. As a result of becoming more self-aware and self-confident you become more aware of other people and develop better social intelligence which makes you a better person to be around
. When you are more introspectively and socially intelligent you are more aware of stress triggers, stress tolerance and stress control which as we all know is important from a health perspective
. By implementing all of the above help and guidelines, people will ultimately develop a growth mindset (I will also give my own definition of a growth mindset)
. Help all men and women to understand, not only the importance of mental health but to diminish the stigma and help to identify potential problems and to overcome existing ones.
Tools used to achieve these goals:
A combination of realistic examples of lifestyle changes, visualisation, embodiment/mindfulness, meditation, yoga, self-motivation techniques, empowerment techniques, accountability. Leading to them being much more empowered to take control of their lifestyle changes through improvement of their adherence factor by “coaching” and inspiring others.

Some of the key factors in the book include:

Adherence Factor Assessment and an Introduction to self-analysis:
A different Perspective on Personality Types & How To evaluate Yourself:
A different Perspective on eating habits
Training towards a Healthy Mind (The importance of sleep and a good sleep hygiene):
Mindful of potential looming health issues:
Maintaining and Adapting Growth Mindset for the rest of your life and in doing so leaving a legacy.

Although an actual “6-Pack” is achievable at 50 (I am the living proof) it is used in the book as a metaphor for a healthier lifestyle and/or a passion/goal. For example, running a marathon, learning a new language, learning to play an instrument, re-establishing a better relationship with family/loved ones, or just trying to “reinvent” yourself.
So, in essence the message of my book is you are never too old to change your life for the better.
